Despite what other lawn care companies may tell you, applying a moss treatment alone does not stop moss from coming back; whilst it does carry some beneficial advantages like improving colour on grass and improving resistance to disease, when it comes to treating moss, it simply dries moss out and burns it to stop it spreading further.

Without the aid of scarification, this moss then remains in the lawn layers, adding to the problem of thatching in the lawn, let alone can leave your lawn looking unpleasant with blackened areas of moss throughout the lawn.

Moss thrives in colder, wetter months, and let’s face it, we live in Scotland, so you can never entirely eradicate it. However, the best solution to moss control is a thick, healthy, well-maintained lawn and improving the conditions where moss thrives.
